Why The Quran Is In Arabic

As the Quran was revealed in Arabia, it needed to be in Arabic so people would understand it, for a source of knowledge and guidance. Arabic is a beautiful and gentile language. The Arabic language is also easy to learn.

‘Lo! We have revealed it, a Lecture in Arabic, that ye may understand.’ Quran: 12:2

‘And We make this Scripture easy in thy tongue, (O Muhammad) only that thou mayst bear good tidings therewith unto those who ward off evil, and warn therewith the froward folk.’ Quran: 19:97

‘And verily We have coined for mankind in this Quran all kinds of similitude’s, that haply they may reflect; A Lecture in Arabic, containing no crookedness, that haply they may ward off evil.’ Quran: 39:27-28

‘Lo! We have appointed it a Lecture, in Arabic that haply ye may understand. And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive.’ Quran: 43:3-4

‘When before it there was the Scripture of Moses, an example and a mercy; and this is a confirming Scripture in the Arabic language, that it may warn those who do wrong and bring good tidings for the righteous.’ Quran: 46:12

Clearly, the Arabians of the time, steeped in idolatry and forbidden practices, in the age of what is known as ‘Jahilia’ (ignorance), would have needed a Scripture in Arabic, pure in form, so they would be able to understand what was within.

‘And if We had appointed it a Koran in a foreign tongue they would assuredly have said: If only its verses were expounded so that we might understand? What! A foreign tongue and an Arab?’ Quran: 41:44

Arabic is the language that many, when they hear it, cry over its beauty.

The Arabic Quran is still here today and unchanged. Even if one cannot understand the language, by no means does it stop anyone from reading a translation to understand the Message of the Quran.

‘(Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may meditate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition.’ Quran: 38:29

The Quran is not just a Message for the Arab people, but for Mankind as the Quran states:

‘Say [O Muhammad]: “Allah is Witness between me and you: this Qur’an hath been revealed to me by inspiration That I may warn you and all whom it reaches.” Quran: 6:19

‘And the Unbelievers would almost trip thee up with their eyes when they hear the Message; and they say: “Surely he [Muhammad] is possessed!” But it is nothing less than a Message to all the worlds.’ Quran: 68:51-52

Mahathma Gandhi About Islam

Gandhi & the Islamic Connection M.K.Gandhi’s views and movements are popular over the world. Seen as an inspiration, he earns a special place in the hearts of many as a charismatic leader who led by principles of simplicity and non-violence. But not many are aware of the role played by Islamic teachings in shaping up the man. Gandhi drew inspirations from the glorious Quran, the blessed life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and that of his companions. Of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) he said in an interview with ‘Young India’ (September 23, 1924) -  “I wanted to know the best of one who holds today undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind… I became more than convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessn...

Why Beard Important for Muslim Men?

1. They protect against the sun A study from the University of Southern Queensland, published in Radiation Protection Dosimetry journal, found that beards block 90 to 95 percent of UV rays, thereby slowing the aging process and reducing the risk of skin cancer. Generally hair offers good protection against the sun, says Dr. Nick Lowe, a leading London-based dermatologist. "It’s similar to an SPF factor,” he adds. “The higher the hair density and thickness, the higher the SPF." 2. They reduce asthma and allergy symptoms For men whose allergies or asthma are set off by pollen or dust, facial hair near the nose may act as a filter of sorts and stop the allergens before they settle in, suggest several experts. 3. They lessen signs of aging Along with signs of aging from sun exposure, facial hair also lessens signs of aging to the face by keeping it moisturized. Beards protect the face from wind and cold air, which can dry the skin. Also, moisturizer applied...
